Ran track my junior and senior years in high school and cross country my senior year. Went to BYU but did not run. Served LDS church mission to San Bernardino, CA. Started running again in April 2005. Marathon debut was St. George in 2005.

I coach the Mount Si High School Track Team (distance)

Been married for almost 17 years. My wife, Mara, and I have four kids ages 16, 14, 13 and 11.

Slogged through six miles this morning. I was tired and slow. Hoping to go 10 this afternoon after meetings. Only managed another 8 miles this evening due to my business schedule. I did six of them on the treadmill at the hotel. Felt great except it was exceedingly warm in the fitness room. So warm that I had something happen to me that has never happened while running. By mile 6 my feet were sweating so badly that I was actually sloshing in my shoes. My shoes would have been no wetter if I had  jumped in a swimming pool and then gone for a run. It made me think that maybe it is a good way to train for warm marathons like TCM. Train warm and force fluids down you constantly to help yor body adjust.

Wow, small world! I know you! As a female I have to try for some internet anonymity (what a world), but we have corresponded by email before. Once I wrote to you about the off leash dogs and another time with feedback about your terrific Railroad Days race.

Ahhh...I haven't seen any movement on that issue. Now that you brought the issue to my mind, i do see a lot of loose dogs around.

The club that met at Stellar Park seems to have moved down to the legitimate dog park at "Three Forks," I think it's called. One of my friends said she watched the cops give them the "leash, leave, or citation" ultimatum a couple of weeks ago. A small victory. :)

gosh...I'm glad I'm not alone. I planned to do a 10-mile run at a fitness center treadmill in Florida (2 weeks ago). By mile 9 I was sloshing and quit out of pure self-consciousness. It was an indoor first for me as well. Great work-out by the way!
